Adventure Glacier Treks & Expedition marks its 22nd anniversary with a major leap forward for the 2026 spring season. The company is shifting toward "Purposeful Travel" by pledging 3% of all booking revenue to local community projects, including education and dog shelters. To ensure peak service, a new "Guide of the Year" award has been established to reward excellence among our mountain staff.

As we celebrate 22 years of Adventure Glacier Treks & Expedition, our secret to successful treks isn't just a map; it's the people who help our guests lead the way. Before starting the spring season, our entire team gathered for a refreshment picnic, which was more than a picnic as we discussed our strategy. We also had a meeting to ensure our guests receive the safest, most authentic trekking experience. Our company believes we aren't just selling a trekking package, as we are selling an experience to our valuable guests.

Vision for 2026: The legacy continues

Our day began with a speech from our founder, Dil Prasad Sapkota, who shared our roadmap for the coming year. With nearly three decades of experience in these mountains, he emphasized that our guides are the real ambassadors of Nepal.

Dil’s vision for 2026 is simple yet productive, focusing on combining traditional Himalayan hospitality with world-class safety standards. He conveyed a clear message: our success is measured by our guests' smiles, and it starts with a well-prepared, empowered team.

More focus on Health and Safety: O2 Checks and Inclusive Dining

At Adventure Glacier, uncompromised safety isn't just a slogan or marketing stunt, but our protocol. Starting from this year, we are implementing two major health initiatives discussed during our retreat:

  • Daily Oxygen Monitoring: Our guides will now perform a mandatory daily oxygen saturation check for every guest during their trek in High altitudes. This will help us to monitor acclimatization in real-time and act proactively.
  • Specialized Dietary Care: We sell experience, so everyone should enjoy the trek without having to worry about their plate. We prioritize strict protocols for vegan, gluten-free, and specific food allergies to prevent any cross-contamination during the trials.

Sustainability: Leave No Trace (LNT)

Say no to non-reuseable plastics
Plates made from Sugarcan Waste

We don't just walk in the trail but believe in protecting it for our future generation. During our picnic, we practiced what we promote to ensure we contribute more to the environment:

  • Zero Plastic: During our picnic, we used plates made from sugarcane waste and recyclable materials, so we don't harm the environment that feeds us.
  • Water Revolution: To eliminate plastic bottle use and its wastage, we have trained our team on the use of water purification tablets and encouraged the use of reusable bottles for all of our guests.
  • One fruit a day keeps the doctor away: We are proud to continue our tradition of providing fresh fruits daily to our guests, which helps to provide a vital nutritional boost for our bodies during high altitudes.

Travel with the Purpose: Our 3% CSR Commitment.

Adventure Glacier believes that the love and warmth we have received from the local communities should be given back. We are proud and happy to announce that 3% of each booking goes directly to CSR activities. When you trek with us, you are helping the local communities :

  • Local Schools and Students: We use that money to provide stationery, infrastructure, and educational support to local students in need.
  • Animal Welfare: Supporting local dog shelters that rescue street and abandoned dogs with food and medical care.
  • Community care: Distributing warm clothes and blankets during winter to those people who need them most.

Celebrating Excellence: Guide of the Year Award

We have launched the Guide of the Year program to ensure that we maintain the highest standard in the Himalayas.

At the end of each year, our guide who demonstrates the most exceptional leadership while prioritizing safety and guest feedback will receive a title with a special gift. This is to appreciate the hard work of our guides . This will help our team to motivate to continue providing world-class services with personalized care, which has helped us keep our 50% guest returning to us in their trips in Nepal.

Team Synergy Building: Cooking and Dancing Together

A team that cooks together will stay together. To foster strong synergy, our office staff and mountain guide prepared traditional Nepalese food over an open fire.

  • Menu: It contains food like local rice, fresh spinach, healthy mutton curry, famous Mustang Alu, crunchy papadam, and a side of fresh green salad.

When we cook together, it ensures that when we are on a difficult mountain pass, we can work as a unit. Our picnic ended with music and traditional dance while celebrating the culture we love to share with you.

Digital Innovation: Seamless Journey

Diwakar Sapkota, our Digital Lead and Strategy Coordinator, demonstrated our brand new website to our team. He showed the guides how we have made the booking process easierand how this new platform ensures they receive critical guest information like dietary needs and allergies instantly. This helps to ensure our “ boots on the ground “ are always in sync with our “office in the city“.
