In our fast-paced modern life, we have forgotten where we come from. A Western and urban lifestyle has confined us and our younger generation inside the concrete jungle, where meals come from the supermarket wrapped in plastic while being dictated by screens and bus schedules. We have lost our deep-rooted connection with our mother earth and natural touch. We have become like robots and lost the simple grounding rhythm of nature.

Our "live like a farmer” experience is an invitation to unplug yourself from screens, step back in time, and remember how peaceful and healthy it would be to live authentically. In this experience you will not only observe the local culture but also become a part of it. Trade your annoying morning alarm and notification for a rooster and experience a connection with the soil, environment, and soul of the Himalayas.

Adventure Glacier will provide you with an authentic village experience that will be memorable for a lifetime. Just step away from luxury and modern comfort and live like Nepali farmers. You will not simply visit the village; you will be part of their community, share meals, participate in daily activities, and be part of their house and festivals. This trip is perfect for travelers who want meaningful conversation, a simple life, authenticity, and deep connection with the Nepali people's lifestyle.

How does your visit empower tourism in rural Nepal?

Agro-tourism in Nepal is more than just a unique vacation, but it also creates a better and sustainable lifeline for local communities. When you join this tour, your tourism dollars go directly to the local host families, which provides them a more sustainable source of income that supports them beyond the harvest season.

As in today's organic foods are getting in limited supply, this tour helps to encourage the growth of organic food production in Nepal. When there is high demand by international and domestic travel and appreciation for healthy, farm-to-table organic practices, it helps to empower local farmers to use natural fertilizers and promote traditional, eco-friendly farming methods.

Things you will involve in this tour

During your stay with your host family you will share their daily activities and responsibilities. This will help you understand local life closely and also help farmers with their daily life.

  • Collecting and Feeding: You will walk into the lush green terraced field or a nearby community forest to cut fresh grass and dried leaves for animals to eat and save them from cold seating places. You will learn to prepare a traditional way of making khole (a warm, cooked nutrient rice, maize, or grain broth) for the cattle.
  • Milking the livestock: Farmers start their morning with cleaning a buffalo or cow to let their calf get milk, and after they get filled, they hand-milk the buffalo or cow to collect milk. They use that milk to drink and also to prepare milk products like yogurt, butter, and buttermilk.
  • Organic Harvesting: Each period of the month, they have different fruits and vegetables to harvest. You will walk into the family garden to pluck freshly grown seasonal vegetables straight from the farm to the table. You will also get to be involved in planting rice, barley, millet, and also potatoes.
  • Farm-to-Table cooking: You will sit by a traditional wood-fired mud stove and get an authentic cooking class for Nepali meals (Dal Bhat, fresh curries, and local breads like selroti) using the ingredients you harvested a few hours before.
