Highlights

Trip Itinerary

At the airport, a representative from our office and a driver in a private vehicle will be waiting to pick you up. After that, you'll be driven to the hotel where you'll spend the night. You will eventually meet your guide to discuss the trek and any equipment, documentation, or other necessities you may have while on the trek. You can simply buy or rent equipment and apparel in the Thamel area if you don't have any. After preparation for the trek, you can enjoy a relaxing walk through Thamel if you have time.

Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara by reguar tourist  bus. Usually, “Tourist “ buses depart at 7:00 am from Kathmandu and take 6-7 hours depending on road conditions.  After arriving at the hotel, take a break if you're tired or go for a walk around the Lakeside or maybe paddle some of the lakes. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast in the Pokhara Hotel, we will go by private vehicle to Banthanti via  Nayapul as lower section of this trek has a built road so not nice to trek with the vehicles. The beginning of the hiking trail from Banthanti which is the end of Ulleri Village  is reached after 2-3 hours driving from Pokhara. The very scenic driving with great views of farming terraces, forest, river and high Himalaya views is unique.

On your arrival at Banthanti, we will sit to have lunch and  then began our hike through winding  picturesque countryside  trails. Starting from Banthanti, our hike will take around 3 hours to reach Ghorepani village where we will be staying overnight. Along the way, we will be hiking through subtropical woods, river falls, bank and settlements.

We will  be hiking to Poon Hill (3210m/10531ft) in the early morning before sunrise for a breathtaking sunrise views. It is a significant location for anyone hoping to witness the magnificent sunrise over the Annapurna Mountains. There are well over 20 snow-capped peaks visible, some of which are Annapurna I (8,091m), Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Fishtail (6,993m), Annapurna South (7,219m), Annapurna II, and Annapurna III. After breakfast at Ghorepani , we will continue our trekking to Tadapani. We will cross a rocky track that leads deep into a forest that is dotted with streams and waterfalls. We will arrive in Tadapani after a 5- to 6-hour trek, and we will spend the night there. You have good chances to see some wild animals and birds on this trail today.

After breakfast, we'll make our way down to Ghandruk, a significant Gurung community. Today's trail is almost entirely hidden by a thick forest abounding wild flora and fauna. You'll still enjoy stunning views of the mountains, such as Himalchuli, Annapurna South, and Mt. Fishtail. Ghandruk is a traditional and well-preserved cultural village. When you arrive there, you'll have an opportunity to look at the community and connect with the residents. Following that, we'll spend the evening in Ghandruk taking in some traditional dancing and singing about their ethnic group. Lunch at  Ghandruk  and explorations around and then drive  about two hours  to  Pokhara.

Incredible trekking and stay in Kathmandu with a special company

Dil Sapkota organised a wonderful trip for my partner and I. We discovered his company and tour services by booking an apartment in his building for our stay in Kathmandu on Airbnb and are delighted to have done so. The top floor apartment has spectacular views. The traditional hand carved doors and lovely. Dil was there to welcome us. His office is only a short walk from the apartment building and he kindly accompanied us there. He took time and care to introduce us to Nepali culture and history before going through our trip plan. His son and daughter also work in the office and were present. He has run his small company for 20 years. He has also trekked all the 5000 metre passes himself. We have just arrived back in Pokhara after our 7-day trek (Poon hill) with the excellent guide and porter team Arjun and Ram. The best word to describe our experience is simply magical. Arjun has a wonderful ability to share his expert knowledge about Nepali culture, the landscape and nature by encouraging an ongoing dialogue throughout the trip. Ram was kind and attentive and always ready for a joke or a song ! The complicity, fun, good humour and kindness of these two people made our trek into a delightful adventure. Arjun led and managed our small group with the utmost care and respect for our health and our walking pace. He is a real people person and always managed to find the best room, the most enjoyable experiences, adapted to our travel style. This is a top class company with people who love what they do and know how to adapt to the customer. 100% recommended! See you next time in Nepal ! ;-)
