Kanchenjunga & Makalu Region

Kanchanjunga is 3rd highest mountains in the world which is located by the Tibetan border in the far eastern region of Nepal. This trek covers both South and North base camps of Kanchanjunga. Kanchanjunga trek can be started from Phungling Bazzar in Taplejung district. The trek allows enough time to acclimatize as the day to day trek goes up gradually. Makalu is firth highest mountain in the world and located in the eastern part of Nepal in the next valley of Kanchanjunga. The peak of Makalu looks beautiful and covered by snow most of the time in the year. The trek to Makalu is rather challenging and one need to be acclimatized as the trek goes rapidly to the higher altitude compared to Kanchanjunga. Both treks Kanchanjunga & Makalu region are habitation of exotic flora fauna and animals including the 9 colors bird Danfe which is the national bird of Nepal. Danfe comes from pheasant family but this special bird can live only in the higher elevation like snowlines.
