Highlights

Overview

Nepal trekking enthusiasts often embark on the Langtang Valley trek, a journey that commences in the lower Langtang Valley. As you traverse through its lush forests and immerse yourself in the charm of the local villages and farmlands, you'll discover that many of the inhabitants are Tibetans. This cultural influence is beautifully reflected in the character of these picturesque villages and the warm-hearted people you meet along the way. It's worth noting that this trail has a rich history as an important trading route with Tibet.

Throughout your expedition, you'll also have the chance to explore a national park, and while spotting wildlife in a dense forest can be challenging, there are opportunities to encounter some fascinating animals and birds. This national park serves as a habitat for various species, including monkeys, Musk Deer, Pika, and Nepal's proud national bird, the vibrant Danphe.

As you progress on your journey, you'll make your way from Langtang village to the scenic Kyanjin Gompa, situated at an altitude of 3,740 meters. Here, you'll find the Yala Cheese Factory, a notable landmark. For those who are interested, a short distance east of Kyanjin, you'll find a STOL airstrip in Chhaldang. Don't miss the chance to visit the Yala Cheese Factory, perched at 4,633 meters, and explore the serene small lakes beyond Yala. The journey from Kyanjin Gompa to Yala is just a half-day's walk, making it a convenient addition to your trek.

If you decide to continue your adventure from Kyanjin Gompa towards the enchanting pastures of Langsisa, which lie at an elevation of 4,084.4 meters, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of numerous glaciers. In just one day's walk from Kyanjin Gompa, you can reach some cozy huts in Langsisa, providing a perfect retreat amidst this stunning landscape.

The Langtang Valley trek, often synonymous with Nepal trekking and tours, showcases the majestic beauty of the region, and the charm of Langtang and Kyanjin Gompa never fails to captivate trekkers on their journey through this enchanting terrain

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival to Kathmandu Airport ( 1400m ,4593ft )

To have some extra time to get ready for the trek, try arriving in Kathmandu during the day or early in the morning. When you arrive at the airport, you will be greeted by our representative and driver. They will accompany you to the hotel. The guide will be there for a coffee meeting to brief you about your treks and let you know about necessary items or treks. Examine your equipment and clothing. If necessary, do some last-minute shopping to make sure you have all the gear and accessories. You will meet with other team members for a welcome dinner in the late evening.

Day 2 : Drive 7 to 8 hours from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1460 m (4790 ft), 136 km (84.5 miles)

To get to the start of the trek, take a long, scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. We will start our journey after breakfast. Enjoy mountain views, terraced fields, and rivers while driving. As you pass through Dhunche, you have the impression that you are entering deep land.

Day 3 : Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel

The first part of the trail crosses Bhote Koshi and follows the Langtang Khola. This path gradually rises to bamboo while passing through the landslide area. Following that, your trek ascends gently to Rimche (2400 meters) via Bamboo (1960 meters), which is located on the bank of Langtang Khola. Finally, your path connects with the Lama Hotel. If you were lucky, you might see red pandas, monkeys, and bears along the way.

Day 4 : Trek to Langtang Village

The trail follows Gumanechok; Ghoda Tabela refers to it as "the horse stable." Following this, the trail is slightly more gradual and scenic in the valley with the grazing yaks. Langtang village is one of the more remote and historic villages along this trek, and the views from here become more spectacular as we get closer to the mountain.

Day 5 : Trek to Kyanjin Gompa

Today's walk is shorter but sufficient for acclimatization. The surroundings are also interesting due to the well-known cheese factory. The Langtang Lirung and other peaks surround this lovely valley. A place to explore the valley and climb numerous small peaks. Spend the night at the guesthouse.

Day 6 : Day of exploration at Kyanjin Gompa

It's a chance to relax and go for a walk today. You can explore the monastery and the cheese factory, hike up the glacier to observe Langtang Lirung's beautiful ice faces and calving glaciers, or climb Kyangjin Ri (4350 meters), this trek's highest point and the point directly behind the settlement, for a breathtaking panorama of the Langtang peaks.

Day 7 : Trek back to Lama Hotel from Kyanjin Gompa

On your way back to the Lama Hotel, you will be treated to a breathtaking view. The Lama Hotel is a lovely downhill hike from Kyanjin Gompa. Enjoy the scenery and the trails that you will see.

Day 8 : Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabru Bensi

Leaving the mountains behind, we descend to the Syabru Bensi, where our journey began. Before arriving in Nepal's hilly region, you will be able to enjoy the beauty of the Himalayan region.

Day 9 : Drive back to Kathmandu by bus for around nine hours.

We'll eat a hearty breakfast before taking the 9-hour bus ride back to Kathmandu from Syabru Besi. Stay in a hotel for the night.
